New Rider Training

New Rider Training

New Rider Training (NRT) is an introduction to riding a motorcycle, aimed at those with no or very little previous experience. We particularly recommend it to people who have not ridden a motorcycle before and hold a provisional driving licence.

NRT will give you an opportunity to learn and practice the basics of controlling a motorbike before progressing onto a CBT course. It is a 90-minute course that will usually be conducted on a 1-to-1 basis; we are happy to deliver it to two people if you would like to do it with a friend or family member.

NRT is an optional course and customers may choose to move directly to CBT.  However, CBT is a long and demanding day, particularly for those without any experience to fall back. Attending NRT makes the CBT course more enjoyable and makes it more likely to go on to pass CBT on a single day.

Before booking a New Rider Training Session, you must be able to:

  • Be comfortable riding a pedal bike and be able to look behind while continuing to ride
  • Hold a valid UK driving licence

We recommend that you provide your own helmet, jacket, boots, and gloves, but please let us know if you wish us to provide anything.  You need to provide and wear hard-wearing trousers (jeans or work trousers).

To book this course, either give us a ring or book online.
